We are confident that most of you interested in Thai silk products have more or less heard of the name "Jim
Thompson" before.
Jim Thompson had served as an officer in the US Army in Europe and Asia during WW II. Upon leaving the service right after the war, he took up his permanent residency in Thailand. He sort of helped build the Thai silk industry from scratch. Spending about 22 years in Thailand, he disappeared with his friends while on holidays in the Cameron Highlands, a northern Malaysian resort. And extensive search failed to give any clues to their whereabouts. With his artistic skill and talent, he had been very successful in bringing Thai silk industry to the silk world. After his death, he has been recognized as the legendary king of world renowned Thai silk.
