These greeting ladies, adorned with gold paint traditional Thai costume, are handcrafted of the rain tree wood from northern Thailand. They are standing with both hands together to greet guests or visitors etc. In Thailand, we call the posture of putting both hands together, “Wai” and this culture is very common in greeting or showing respect to the elderly. Together with this posture, if these ladies could utter words, they would have said “Sawasdee Kaa”, meaning hello or good-bye or good morning.
These hand-carved greeting Thai ladies are ideal for a Thai restaurant or as a home decor.
