Our architectural fittings and wall decor are hand-carved from teakwood; most of which are carved from one piece of wood. Most of the figures on the carvings are drawn from Thai literature, which has been influenced by Indian civilization.
Only a few of the pieces represent the Thai (or Chinese) animal zodiac. For, legend of the twelve-animal zodiac, every year is assigned an animal name or "sign" according to a repeating cycle: rat, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, sheep, monkey, rooster, dog, and boar.
